The CAP1206 is a 6-channel capacitive touch sensor controller designed for touch sensor applications. It features six individual capacitive touch sensor inputs with programmable sensitivity and automatic recalibration to account for environmental changes and parasitic capacitance. The device supports multiple button pattern detection, allowing specific sets of buttons to be activated simultaneously, which generates an interrupt signal. Power management is a key feature, with the device capable of operating in Active, Standby, and Deep Sleep states. In Deep Sleep mode, it consumes a typical current of 5¬µA, while Standby mode can draw 50¬µA with one sensor input monitored. The sensor operates on a supply voltage range of 3.3V to 5V and is compliant with SMBus and I¬=C communication protocols. The CAP1206 is housed in a compact 10-pin DFN package and is RoHS compliant, making it suitable for various applications including desktop and notebook PCs, LCD monitors, consumer electronics, and appliances.
