The ATR4256-TKSY is a synthesizer IC designed for FM receivers and AM up-conversion systems, utilizing BiCMOS technology. It features a reference oscillator capable of tuning up to 15 MHz, an oscillator buffer output for AM up/down conversion, and two programmable 16-bit dividers. The device supports fine-tuning steps and has a fast response time of up to 800 µs. It operates on a 3-wire bus compatible with both 3V and 5V microcontrollers and includes four programmable open-drain switching outputs. Additionally, it incorporates three digital-to-analog converters (DACs) for software-controlled tuner alignment and boasts low power consumption and a high signal-to-noise ratio. The ATR4256 is pin-compatible with the U4256BM-R, making it a suitable choice for applications requiring a complete AM/FM car radio front-end, including RDS applications.
