The TIP101 is a medium-power NPN silicon transistor in a TO-220 Compact package, designed for high current switching applications. It has a collector-emitter voltage rating of 80 V, a continuous collector current of 8.0 A, and a peak collector current of 15 A. The device features a typ­ical DC current gain of 2500 at 4.0 A, a collector-emitter saturation voltage of up to 2.5 V at 8.0 A and 80 mA base current, and built-in base-emitter shunt resistors.
