McWane Plant & Industrial's Weld-On Boss Outlets are separate components machined by size with a radiused edge to facilitate matching them to the outside diameter of a parent Ductile iron pipe. The flanged outlets have threaded tapped bolt holes for direct installation of a spool or a valve. Weld-On Boss Outlets can be positioned at any point around the circumference of the pipe wall.
The bossed outlets are most commonly used in treatment plants, above-ground installations, manholes, vault installations, or where there is not enough room to use Ductile iron cast fittings, or where fittings are not offered in the configuration desired by the designer. The bossed outlets can be machined from Ductile iron or steel.
