The XR3170EID-F is a full-duplex RS-485 transceiver designed for reliable bidirectional communication on multipoint bus transmission lines. It operates from a single 3.3V power supply and supports high-speed data rates of up to 20 Mbps. The device features a robust design with ESD protection rated at ±15 kV for air-gap discharge and ±8 kV for contact discharge, making it suitable for harsh environments. This transceiver has a low quiescent current of 650 µA and can enter a low-power shutdown mode, drawing only 1 µA when both the driver and receiver are disabled. It supports up to 256 transceivers on a single bus due to its 1/8th unit load, which minimizes the load on the bus. The XR3170EID-F is rated for industrial temperature ranges from -40°C to +85°C, ensuring reliable operation in various conditions.
