The MXL7704-XQB-R is a five-output power management integrated circuit (PMIC) designed for low power FPGAs, DSPs, and microprocessors, operating from a 5V input. It features four synchronous step-down buck regulators with output currents ranging from 1.5A to 4A, and a 100mA low dropout regulator (LDO) that provides a clean voltage output between 1.5V and 3.6V for auxiliary devices. The device supports ±10% margining on all outputs, with dynamic voltage control available on the two highest power outputs to enhance power efficiency. The MXL7704-XQB-R includes a 400kHz I²C interface for monitoring input voltage and power good flags, as well as for configuring power sequencing and switching frequency. It is equipped with fault protection features such as input undervoltage lockout, overcurrent protection, and thermal protection, ensuring reliable operation. The PMIC is housed in a compact 5mm x 5mm QFN package, making it suitable for applications in industrial control, test equipment, and POS terminals.
