Alginate Methacryloyl (ALMA) is sodium alginate modified with olefinic double bonds, which can be cross-linked and cured into gel by ultraviolet and visible light under the action of photoinitiator. Compared with traditional divalent ion (calcium ion, etc.) crosslinking, ALMA light-curing crosslinking method is more portable, and the internal uniformity of the gel is good. ALMA photocurable hydrogel has a three-dimensional (3D) structure suitable for cell growth and differentiation, and both -OH and -COOH in the structural unit can be used as chemically reactive active sites. In addition, the ALMA hydrogel has good mechanical properties, and its constructed 3D microscaffolds have tunable mechanical and chemical properties.
