Master Bond, Inc. High strength, toughened UV curable system for bonding, especially in optical and electro-optic applications UV18S

Description
Key Features Outstanding physical properties Superb chemical resistance Bonds well to many types of plastics Withstands thermal cycling Product Description Master Bond UV18S is a specialty UV curable system for bonding, featuring good strength, toughness, and chemical resistance. It cures readily in 20-30 seconds when exposed to a UV light source emitting at a wavelength of 320-365 nm, with an energy output as low as 20-40 milliwatts per cm². The rate of cure depends upon the distance of the light source, its intensity, and the thickness of the section being cured. UV18S can cure in sections up to 0.080-0.125 inches. When bonding, no more than a few thousandths of an inch are needed. It contains no solvents or diluents. The system bonds well to a wide variety of substrates including glass, surface treated metals and plastics, such as polycarbonates and acrylics. It offers very good temperature and chemical resistance, as outlined in the chart below. Its service temperature range is -60°F to +250°F. UV18S is an outstanding electrical insulator. Ideal for high production applications where fast fixture times and rapid curing are critical, UV18S is used in opto-electronic devices, particularly when optical clarity and chemical resistance are important parameters. Product Advantages One component system, no mixing needed Rapid curing with proper UV light source Good electrical insulator High bond strength Outstanding chemical resistance Excellent optical clarity
