Master Bond EP126 withstands very high temperatures, up to +600°F, and has a glass transistion temperature of +240°C. This two component product features unique handling properties as Part A is a moderate viscosity liquid and Part B is a powder. It can be easily mixed using a forgiving 100 to 50 ratio by weight. The mixed system is a malleable paste, with an exceedingly long open time of more than 5 days for a 100 gram batch. It is widely used in the electronic, aerospace, optical and specialty OEM industries.

Master Bond Polymer System EP126 is a two component toughened epoxy resin based high temperature resistant adhesive system with continuous service capability at 500°F and outstanding chemical resistance. This unique high performance epoxy adhesive compound can also withstand temperatures as high as 700°F for limited time periods. Unlike other heat resistant epoxy resin formulations Master Bond Polymer System EP126 features significantly enhanced peel strength as well as improved lap shear properties which are largely retained even after prolonged high temperature service. The cured adhesive exhibits remarkably high adhesive characteristics with both metallic and nonmetallic substrates including the recently introduced liquid crystal polymers and other thermally stable engineering plastics. The pertinent performance properties of the Master Bond Polymer System EP126 are moreover maintained upon long term exposure to a wide array of chemicals such as strong mineral acids and bases, salt solutions, petroleum fuels and lubricants as well as most all organic solvents at both ambient and elevated temperatures. This compound is 100% reactive and does not contain any solvents or other volatiles. The Master Bond Polymer System EP126 compound is comprised of a high viscosity liquid and a powder component. They are mixed together to form a heavy pastelike liquid. It is suggested that the liquid component be preheated to 200-220°F before adding the powder to facilitate mixing. Curing is accomplished at moderately elevated temperatures up to 400°F within relatively short time periods e.g. 2-3 hours. After more than 500 hours of exposure at 500°F the cured EP126 resin exhibits metal/metal adhesive shear strengths in the 2000-3000 psi range at ambient and 1000-1200 psi at 500°F. Physical strength properties are very satisfactory both before and after such temperature exposures. Weight loss upon 1000 hours exposure at 500°F is less than 2%. Dimensional stability is excellent up to the limits of the compound's thermal stability. The cured polymer is an electrical and thermal insulator. Master Bond Polymer System EP126 is the preferred choice for high performance adhesive applications requiring long service up to and at 500°F and/or exposure to hostile chemical environments.
