The Mallory Sonalert produces an audible tone by internally creating an oscillating signal which drives a piezo ceramic transducer mounted in a sound chamber. For applications requiring operation over extended temperature ranges, or in extreme environmental conditions, military models are recommended. Exposed surface of the sound transducer is treated with corrosion protective coating. Mounting nut is anodized aluminum. Terminals are tin plated brass with nickel plated 6-32 screws.
