The MSM42W6 is a solid-state delay-on-make timer for 120VAC operation with a fixed 2s delay, standard wire leads 6.0 inches (152.4 mm) long, and a mountable bracket. It has no moving parts, provides immediate reset on power removal, and is fully encapsulated for protection against shock, vibration, and humidity. The output is a normally open solid-state contact with a maximum load current of 0.5A at 25°C and 0.25A at 60°C. Operating temperature ranges from -20°C to 60°C, with storage from -30°C to 85°C and 95% non-condensing humidity tolerance. Weight is approximately 1.2 oz (34 g).
The MSM replaces bi-metal type timing with reliable solid-state circuitry. There are no moving parts to arc or wear. It is a cost effective solution for OEM designers. It is available for printed circuit board mounting or surface mounting with a removable bracket and wire leads. The MSM offers immediate reset on removal of power. Operation (Delay-on-Make)The time delay begins upon application of input voltage. The output is de-energized before and during the time delay. At the end of the time delay, the output energizes and remains energized until input voltage is removed.Reset: Removing input voltage resets the time delay and output.
