This series will be End of Life (EOL) on December 31, 2017 and is not recommended for new designs. Replacement will be the SMBJ series . The SMB series is designed to protect voltage sensitive components from high voltage, high energy transients. They have excellent clamping capability, high surge capability, low zener impedance and fast response time. The SMB series is supplied in Littelfuse's exclusive, cost-effective, highly reliable package and is ideally suited for use in communication systems, numerical controls, process controls, medical equipment, business machines, power supplies and many other industrial/consumer applications. Standard Zener Breakdown Voltage Range - 6.4 to 200 V Standoff Voltage Ratings Ranging from 5 V to 170 V Peak Power Rating of 600 W at 1 Ams Maximum Clamp Voltage at Peak Pulse Current Low Leakage < 5 µA Above 10 V UL Recognition Response Time Is Typically Below 1 ns CASE: Void-free, transfer-molded, thermosetting plastic FINISH: All external surfaces are corrosion resistant and leads are readily solderable POLARITY: Cathode indicated by molded polarity notch.
