Linx Technologies 315MHz Keyfob Transmitter Basic Evaluation Kit EVAL-315-KEY#

Description
Keyfob Transmitter Evaluation Kit Test the performance of the keyfob transmitter against your own design with the keyfob transmitter evaluation kit. It comes with two remotes and an evaluation board for benchmarking and prototyping. The board is populated with a KH2 Series receiver/decoder module. A small prototyping area gives you a place to develop circuitry. To help you get started, the system also includes an antenna and an extra receiver/decoder module. When used together, keyfob transmitters work with Holtek decoders and compatible Linx RF modules to let you trigger discrete actions with button presses. Holtek chips provide a low level of security. They let you send commands from multiple transmitters to distinct receivers in the same vicinity through physical addressing. The remote contains a Holtek encoder and an LR Series transmitter. It can be used with a KH2 Series receiver/decoder or with a combination of a Holtek decoder and an LT Series or LR Series RF module. The encoder uses input from up to five buttons to encode a digital signal, then passes the signal to a transmitter for sending. A receiver picks up the signal and passes it to a decoder. If the signal is accepted, the decoder replicates the encoder’s inputs on its outputs. The outputs can be connected to up to five devices such as microprocessors, LEDs, motors or relays. Security The decoder will only accept transmissions from compatible encoders with addresses that match its own. Holtek chips allow manual addressing through DIP switches or cut traces. Because the address is visible in hardware, Holtek chips are not as secure as the MS Series and HS Series, which use digital addressing. Additionally, because Holtek chips do not use encryption or rolling code, they do not protect against intentional security threats. For protection against intentional threats, consider the HS compact handheld transmitter. Benefits Benchmark performance: evaluation area lets you test the module in your application environment Develop quickly: prototyping area allows rapid hardware development Get help easily: call Linx for free technical support Integrate with ease: set up simple remote control systems without a microcontroller or the need for user programming Carry conveniently: case hole allows key ring attachment Avoid accidental conflicts: physical address helps prevent identification mistakes Kit Includes 1 fully assembled evaluation board 2 keyfob transmitters 2 KH2 Series receiver/decoder modules, including one on the board 1 HD Series antenna in the 315MHz kit 1 CW Series antenna in the 418MHz and 433MHz kits 2 RP-SMA connectors, including one on the board 2 AAA batteries Evaluation kit user’s guide Keyfob transmitter documentation KH2 Series documentation FCC Part 2 and Part 15 regulations Free technical support

Keyfob Transmitter Evaluation Kit

Test the performance of the keyfob transmitter against your own design with the keyfob transmitter evaluation kit.

Security

The decoder will only accept transmissions from compatible encoders with addresses that match its own.
