100 Explosion Proof Metal Halide Light is U.L. approved Class 1 & 2, Division 1 & 2 and is rated for use in wet and marine environments. The spun aluminum mount and metal halide lamp used with this unit provide operators with excellent power and efficiency coupled with high versatility and ease of use. The RNT-EPL-BS-70-100 explosion proof light provides 13,000 square feet of work area coverage with 32,000 lumens of light output. The 70 watt metal halide lamp on this unit produces illumination equivalent to typical 400 watt halogen lamps while drawing only 70 watts at .58 amps. The metal halide lamp runs cooler than 400 watt halogen lamps, resulting in an easier to handle unit and less heat in the workspace. The metal halide lamp in this unit produces a brilliant flood pattern of light that is ideal for high vibration environments and general illumination in any confined space area (silo, tank or manhole). 40' container without any illumination 4EPL-BS-70-100 illuminating the container 4EPL-BS-70-100 Exploded View Click Photo to Enlarge Click Photo to Enlarge Click Photo to Enlarge This explosion proof light fixture is comprised of a 70 watt light head with a dual ended metal halide lamp mounted atop a 12 1/2" dia. circular base fabricated from non sparking spun aluminum and includes a convenient carrying handle mounted to the top of the light head. The aluminum base on this unit has three pre-drilled 0.437" diameter holes to allow the fixture to be permanently mounted to flat surfaces for maximum stability. The lamp can be easily adjusted up or down 90 degrees and locked into position by simply loosening the two hand screws located on either side of the light head and retightening them once the desired angle is found. Included with this unit is 100 feet of SOOW cord terminating in an 1523 5-15p Class 1 Division 1 explosion proof straight blade plug. The lamp assembly includes a 70 watt metal halide bulb, internal ballast and aluminum finish reflector in a copper-free cast aluminum housing with a thermoset powder coat finish. The shell, covers and sealed fittings are also made of copper-free aluminum. The lens is constructed of 3/4" thermal shock and impact resistant tempered glass and the housing contains threaded joints lubricated with non-drying lubricant. The metal halide lamp has no filament and is thus highly resistant to damage from shocks or impacts, greatly reducing the chances of damage should the lamp be dropped or hit, unlike incandescent lamps which may break or shatter. The lamp is rated at 2500+ hours of life, providing longer service life than typical halogen lamps.
