As such, HID bulbs have much longer life than halogen bulbs, since there is no filament to break in high vibration environments. In addition, the gas is not subject to deterioration from heat, like halogen filaments, which also results in greater longevity. This HID-65-50 series spotlights will easily outperform a 500 watt halogen lamp which will consume 21 amps on a 24 volt circuit, while producing less heat and drawing less than 2 amps. These HID spotlights have an internally integrated ballast and take a simple power and ground wiring configuration. Thus, they can be used in place of any similar configured halogen light. There is no need for replacement of in-vehicle wiring systems, switches or other harness related equipment. A simple through hole mounting stud is comparable to other vehicle based mounted lights.
