IT WORKS STRICTLY OFF THE HARD WIRED CONTROLLER. Magnalight recently went out into the field to conduct a comparison between the Golight HID Strykers vs. the Halogen Stryker Models. In this photograph, the Halogen Stryker is illuminating a stretch of road about 5000 feet in length. The beam starts to go soft after about 750' or so. With the HID golights, the difference is noticeable. The light on this particular unit is just all around better quality, stays tighter for longer distances, and even illuminates the trees at the end of the road. The power of the HID is exceptionally more than the halogen, while consuming much less amps. The outer rubber cover of the remote can be removed so that the rear mounting plate can be attached to a mounting surface via 4 screws. The remote requires that a 2 inch hole be drilled in the mounting surface to accommodate the rear portion of the controller and wiring harness. Pan and tilt function of the Golight continues while the joystick is depressed. When the operator releases the button, the Golight stops and holds position. On/off button included on the controller. Fast and slow button (turtle/hare) control speed of the motor during pan and tilt functions. 12 seconds for a full 370 degree rotation and 8 seconds for full tilt on fast mode. Slow mode is used to pinpoint accuracy at distance and is approximately 35 seconds for full rotation and 20 seconds for one full range tilt. Replacement remote controls are readily available.
