DC power supply converts 110 volts AC input to 12 Volts DC output. You can plug this unit into a wall outlet or wire the 110 AC power directly to the unit. This power conversion unit features a marine grade cigarette plug socket in a mounted enclosure. If you wish to run your 12 volt spotlight from a normal wall outlet, this device (or one like it) is necessary. The stock Golight spotlight models require 6.5 amp capacity and many of the Magnalight spotlights and HID Golight remote control spotlights need 15 amps to start. We looked all over for a properly rated unit, but could not find one. So... we built one. This will work with all lights on www.magnalight.com. This DC power supply enables the Magnalight Spotlight to work from normal wall outlet and/or direct wire to a 110 AC circuit. This AC / DC converter can support up to 23 amps. This power conversion units is suitable for all Golights and Magnalights found on this site. This also includes all the new HL-85-HID spotlights and all other High Intensity Discharge Spotlights and Flood lights on this site. Any Magnalight spotlight with cigarette plug and/or stripped leads can be connected to this converter as well. There are bolt down terminals for hard wired connections. For example, all the magnetic Golight models found on this site can be plugged into this unit with the cigarett plug. All the permanent mount Golights can be powered by the unit via the two screw down terminals in the back of the unit. This sine wave based model is very lightweight, compared to the older coil based models. The unit weighs under 2 pounds and measures 5 inches wide, 2 inches tall and 6 inches long. The front of the unit has a cigarette plug socket and an on/off switch. The back of the unit has the locking, screw down type terminal connectors. Rubber feet on the bottom keep the unit from sliding on slick surface. This is NOT a weatherproof unit. It is made for indoor and/or protected area use. The back of the cigarette plug enclosure is left open, so operators can make configuration adjustments, change sockets, etc.
