The Model 218 is a temperature monitor designed for cryogenic and noncryogenic applications, supporting up to eight sensor inputs with selectable diode or RTD types. It features a 4-line by 20-character backlit LCD display capable of showing readings in K, °C, V, or Ω, updating twice per second. The device supports silicon diodes, GaAlAs diodes, platinum RTDs, Cernox™, Germanium, and Rox™ sensors, with operation down to 1.2 K using appropriate sensors. It includes two configurable analog voltage outputs, 16 programmable alarms, and eight relays in the Model 218S version. Communication interfaces include IEEE-488.2 and RS-232C, with user-configurable 200-point calibration curves and SoftCal™ algorithm for enhanced accuracy. The instrument has a half-rack form factor measuring 216 mm wide × 89 mm high × 318 mm deep, weighing 3 kg, with CE and RoHS certification.
The Model 218 is our most versatile temperature monitor. With eight sensor inputs, it can be used with nearly any diode or resistive temperature sensor. It displays all eight channels continuously in K, °C, V or Ω. The measurement input was designed for the demands of cryogenic temperature measurement, however, the monitor’s low noise, high resolution, and wide operating range make it ideal for noncryogenic applications as well.
