Eccosorb¬Æ LS is a lossy, flexible foam microwave absorber designed for applications requiring isolation and insertion loss, as well as cavity resonance reduction. It is made from polyurethane foam impregnated with a carbon black dispersion, providing electrical conductivity. The material is available in standard sheets measuring 610mm x 610mm and comes in various thicknesses ranging from 3.2 mm to 19.1 mm. Eccosorb LS operates effectively in frequency ranges starting from 1 GHz, with a maximum service temperature of 90¬8C (194¬8F). It is suitable for use in commercial telecom, test boxes, security and defense, and sensor applications. The product can help lower cavity Q's in RF amplifiers and oscillators, reduce surface currents on radiating elements, and decrease reflectivity on surfaces when applied in layers. For optimal performance, Eccosorb LS should be bonded to metallic surfaces, and it can be easily cut to size. It is typically supplied with a pressure-sensitive adhesive and can be customized for specific applications, including special sizes and coatings for moisture resistance.
