The material features a dielectric strength greater than 300 volts/mil, a dissipation factor of less than 0.002 in the 1 to 10 GHz range, and a volume resistivity exceeding 10^14 ohm-cm. Eccostock HiK500F is primarily utilized for reducing the size of waveguides, cavity tuning probes, patch antennas, and dielectric lens antennas. It is available in various dielectric constants and dimensions, including sheets, rods, and bars, with thicknesses ranging from 0.64 cm to 7.62 cm. The material must be machined with diamond blades, as carbide tools may break due to its hardness.
