Eccosorb MCS is a high-loss, thin, elastomeric microwave absorber designed for effective RFI and EMI shielding. It operates within a frequency range of 800 MHz to 6 GHz and is made from a magnetically loaded, electrically non-conductive silicone rubber. The material is moisture-resistant and can withstand high altitudes without performance degradation, making it suitable for various applications, including commercial telecom, security and defense, and automotive electronics. The product features low outgassing properties, which are beneficial for space applications, and has a maximum service temperature of 170¬8C (338¬8F). It exhibits high magnetic loss and is rated UL94 V-0 for fire retardancy. Typical properties include a hardness of over 80 Shore A, a volume resistivity of 2x10^8 ohm-cm, and a tensile strength greater than 3.5 MPa. Eccosorb MCS is effective in dampening resonances when placed within cavities, suppressing surface currents, and reducing RF coupling in antennas and microwave components. It is available in standard sheets measuring 305 x 305 mm (12,Äù x 12,Äù) with a thickness of 1 mm (0.040,Äù), and can be supplied with a pressure-sensitive adhesive for ease of application.
