Wood Products
In the wood products industry, GP catalysts are available for the production of interior grade particleboard and medium density fiberboard (MDF). Using a combination of scavenger, buffering and catalyst technologies, manufacturers can help improve cure speed and control physical properties and formaldehyde emissions.
Fiber-Reinforced Polymers
Two-component phenolic resin/catalyst systems from GP Chemicals are also used in the manufacture of fiber-reinforced polymers (FRP). Developed for hand layup and Resin Transfer Molding (RTM), these systems are suitable for other FRP processes including pultrusion and filament winding. Varying the resin/catalyst mixture can result in improvements in pot life and cure speed.
