The 596 is a surface mount leaf-spring battery contact for negative terminals, designed for AA, CR2, and A cell sizes. It is constructed from 0.012 inch (0.30 mm) spring steel with tin-nickel plating and ensures low contact resistance via spring tension. The component mounts directly on PCBs 0.062 to 0.093 inch thick. Its dimensions are 0.180 inch (4.6 mm) in height, 0.190 inch (4.8 mm) in width, and 0.150 inch (3.8 mm) in length. It is available in bulk or tape and reel packaging with a 24 mm wide tape and 12 mm pitch.
