Electro-mechanical Doctor Oscillators
A proven technique that greatly improves doctoring performance and increases blade life. Features/Benefits Prevents particle buildup under the doctor blade Reduces roll scoring Extends blade life Enhances sheet shedding capability Increased roll life Oscillation Improves Doctoring Performance and Efficiency Electro-mechanical oscillation can be used anywhere along a papermaking machine but is primarily recommended for use in the press, dryer and breaker stack sections, as well as the calender section and reel. Oscillation has many benefits including improved doctoring and increased overall efficiency of the application. Through its knifing action, oscillation acts to prevent particle buildup under the blade. Additionally, the continuous motion assures more even blade wear, resulting in longer blade life and reduced roll scoring. The heavy-duty system oscillates the doctor a total stroke of 3 /4" (19 mm), 3 /8" (10 mm) on each side of center line) at six cycles per minute. The motor and gear unit can be mounted to either the tending or drive side, depending on machine configuration. A heavy-duty fractional horsepower motor drives a double-reduction gear unit, which connects to an extended journal on the doctor through the use of a cam follower. Free-moving, anti-friction bearings are incorporated into the system to provide minimum resistance and a smooth stroke. Other features of the oscillation system are: Proven product design Heavy-duty motor and gear unit with adjustable motor positions Cam roller bearings Rugged mounting brackets
