The 49612 is a Ball Lock® shank designed for use in quick-change fixturing systems, with a shank diameter of 1.00 inch and a thickness of 25 mm. It is compatible with standard Face Mount Receiver Part 49502 and Back Mount Receiver Part 49512. The shank is part of a system that provides repeatability of ±0.0005 inch or better and supports holding forces from 650 to 20,000 lbs. It is intended for use on horizontal and vertical machining centers to enable rapid fixture changeover.
Any Ball Lock® application requires at least (2) sets of shanks, receiver bushings, and liners. The liners are placed into the fixture plate to insure extremely accurate positioning. If more than (2) shanks are required (to provide additional hold down force), omit the liner bushing so that these additional holes will not interfere with your primary locating holes.
