The Jergens Stainless Steel Spring Plunger, part number 30484, features a single-unit construction that eliminates the need for a set screw, enhancing reliability and preventing lost springs. The plunger is made from 303 stainless steel, with a tip also crafted from 303 stainless steel, ensuring durability in various applications. It conforms to TCMA dimensional standards and includes a patch-style locking element for secure engagement. The rear hex drive facilitates easy insertion, and special materials and sizes can be requested. For optimal performance, the tapped hole should be countersunk slightly larger than the plunger's major diameter. This product is suitable for applications requiring consistent and reliable spring action.
Jergens Spring Plungers, unlike conventional spring plungers, are machined in one piece. The spring is assembled from the top so that there is no need for a set screw. Our Spring Plungers do not have a set screw that can loosen or separate from the plunger body. The advantage is no lost springs and no need for “easy-out” tools. When adjusting Solid Drive, you can be sure the plunger body is turning and not a set screw.
