jbj Techniques Limited Rigid Shaft Keyed Sleeve Coupling

Description
The sleeve coupling is the most straight forward type of rigid coupling, also know as a ‘muff’ coupling. It is a machined cylinder that joins two shafts, usually a drive shaft and a driven shaft, used when two shafts are well aligned with little or no misalignment. Due to the coupling keyway and spline key causing concentration of torque on the one point of the coupling this setup is not used for high speed or high torque applications. One or both shafts require being able to be moved along the axis of the shafts in order to install the coupling.
