The valve is mounted in a tee, downstream of the pump check valve(s). It is designed to anticipate surges to avoid the severe water hammer often associated with power failure surges. This valve is comprised of two pilots, the high pressure pilot opens the valve to relieve excess pressure. The low pressure pilot opens quickly on below normal pressures prior to the return of a surge wave, initiating the opening of the main valve in anticipation of the high pressure wave's arrival.
Product Information:
Relieve pressure, Sustain differential pressure, Anticipate surges, Plus more. Whatever your application is ISC offers valves that provide peace of mind, and give your application the protection it needs. Relief valves are used to control or limit the pressure in a system or vessel which can upset instruments or equipment. Pressure sustaining valves act to maintain a desired upstream pressure to prevent “robbing” of the upper zone. In operation, the surge prevention valves protect against power failure surges or pressure waves caused by velocity changes. In addition to surge relief, this valve can be used for pressure relief, pressure sustaining, back pressure, or unloading functions in a by-pass system.
