The Intel® 81348 I/O Processor features two integrated Intel XScale® processors with clock speeds of 667 MHz, 800 MHz, and 1.2 GHz, compliant with ARM V5TE architecture. It includes a 32 KByte instruction/data cache and a 512 KByte unified Level 2 cache. The processor supports both PCI-X and PCI Express as endpoints and can accommodate various lane widths. It is equipped with eight Serial-Attached SCSI links and a dedicated 1 MB SRAM memory controller for SAS transport. The device also features a multi-ported memory controller supporting up to 2 GB of DDR2 memory with optional ECC support. Additional functionalities include programmable timers, general-purpose I/O pins, multiple I2C bus interfaces, and UART units. The processor is housed in a 1357-ball Flip Chip Ball Grid Array (FCBGA) package measuring 37.5 mm x 37.5 mm.
