Our 4U rackmount computers can be built as motherboard or backplane systems depending on the amount of expansion slots needed. The D-400-7P is the standard chassis for motherboard systems and can house mATX and ATX motherboards. It is a compact depth chassis (20.8") and has seven openings on the back for expansion slots. The D-400 is the standard chassis for backplane systems using a PICMG 1.3 full-size CPU card and passive backplane to get up to fourteen expansion slots.
