Model AS4 is a heavy-duty quarter-turn spring return actuator for fail-safe valve and damper automation, with a spring end torque of 400 in-lb (45.2 Nm) and a start torque of 600 in-lb (67.8 Nm). It operates on 115, 208, or 230 Vac single-phase power, with a 12-second electric cycle time and 2-second spring return. The motor is a permanent split capacitor type with thermal overload protection and a power-on brake. Mounting complies with ISO 5211 F07, featuring a 0.66" square male drive. Weight is 68 lb (30.8 kg). It meets NEMA 4 standards, with optional NEMA 7 and 4X enclosures. Model AS4 electric spring return actuator is a robust heavy-duty actuator recommended for systems requiring as many as 74 cycles per day (approximately 27,000 annually). Like model ES2 the operating cycle life of the actuator is drastically affected by the model of operation, power to open and close will provide for years of reliable performance. AS4 has a spring end torque of 400 lb·in with a closing speed of 3 sec./90 degrees upon loss of power. This actuator is ideally suited for ball valves and dampers with torque ratings of up to 300 lb·in.
