The 510 series are manually operated mechanical encoders. They provide 4-bit gray code for absolute electrical reference applications and 2-bit gray code for relative reference applications. These mechanical rotary encoders are commonly used in limited space and panel mounted applications. Typical applications are as follows, temperature control, time control and position sensing.
