Beamsplitter Cubes are constructed by cemented two right angle prisms. The hypotenuse of one prism is coated with polarization dielectric coating.
3.1 Compared with beamsplitter plate, beamsplitter cube has the following advantages:
Identical path length for both the reflected and the transmitted beams
The transmitted beam is neither displaced nor deflected
Stable and compact
Easy operation
Easy for mounting/aligning
