The VCS15-050-AB-LV-2 is a closed loop single plane dual axis positioning stage with air bearings. This stage is ideal for low velocity ripple positioning applications that require independent multiple motions on a single travel plane. It uses H2W voice coil motor NCC15-24-050-1R. Each voice coil has a 1.50" [38.1 mm] stroke; generates 8.4 lbs [37.4 N] of continuous force and 25.2 lbs [112 N] of peak force. The LVDT allows for accurate positioning. It comes supplied with a non-contact air bearing (air bushing) which minimizes the amount of friction as well as the pitch, yaw, and roll in the system. The motor coil is the moving part of the assembly in order to reduce the moving mass of the system. Power is supplied to the motor via a high flex, high reliability flat ribbon cable. The voice coil motors have been mounted centered and over the bearing assembly in order to reduce the overall width and length of the system.
