This moving coil actuator (NCC03-16-015-2R) comes supplied with an aluminum bobbin in order to prevent eddy currents from being generated in the bobbin, and allow for a minimal resistance to the desired motion. In certain uses of voice coil actuators there is a desire to manufacture them with increased radial clearance, while this lowers the overall efficiency, this allows for the motor to travel through an arc, and thus in some rotary applications the use of a voice coil actuator with an increased radial clearance, like this model, would be desirable. This actuator also comes supplied with a thru hole, should your application require a hollow actuator.
