Heavy-duty units provide increased pulling power over standard units. Continuous-duty units can be energized indefinitely. Intermittent-duty units offer higher pulling power, but can only be energized for a maximum of 180 seconds, then they must cool for a minimum of 540 seconds. Push solenoids extend the stainless steel plunger out from the body of the solenoid. DC frame solenoids are shipped with plungers, but without return springs.
