Mil-Aero Rectangular Connectors
From 32139 Nano miniature and 83513 Micro-D to 24308 D-Sub: The Industry's Best Performance and Availability Glenair manufactures all of the popular industry-standard rectangular connectors used in military, aerospace and other high reliability applications, including special high-performance versions of the M24308 D-Sub and our revolutionary Series 79 Micro-Crimp connector. We offer a small form factor rectangular connector for virtually every I/O and wire-to-board requirement. All of our rectangular connector products are available with flex circuit terminations, as well as turnkey point-to-point cordsets. We are QPL suppliers of all M32139 Nano, M83513 Micro-D as well hermetic 24308 D-Subs and other special purpose solutions. Many series, including Glenair Micro-Crimp and HiPer-D, are available as EMI/RFI filter and high-speed solutions. Why Rectangular? Circular connectors are ideally suited for applications that require efficient, manual mating and de-mating of connectors. Circulars are also considered superior in terms of their environmental performance. But rectangular-shaped connectors have many advantages of their own. Here are the main reasons rectangulars are king in so many interconnect applications: Connector/Contact Density Because of their shape, and the way rectangular connectors are fixed together with jacking hardware, these connectors can deliver optimized interconnection of circuits with higher density and less wasted space compared to circulars. By way of example, consider the 102 contact Series 79 Micro-Crimp connector versus the 130 contact Series 80 Mighty Mouse (the highest pin counts available in both series). Image you would need at least four connectors from either series for a particular box application (see image). Now if you simply do the math, it may appear Mighty Mouse is the contact density winner. But considering the stackable Series 79 does its job in 1/3 the space as the Mighty Mouse, the rectangular shaped solution comes out on top.
