FTL Technology Glycodur® Bearings

Description
Glycodur® dry sliding bearings are a cost effective, press fit bearing system that can be elegantly packaged into an abundance of applications across wide variety of markets, including Food & Pharmaceuticals. They offer an excellent combination of low friction and high load bearing capacity which give them universal appeal to designers and system specifiers. There are three basic material combinations of Glycodur® available: Glycodur® F Glycodur® F sliding bearings have a copper-plated steel base, to which a 0.2 to 0.4mm porous tin/bronze layer sintered. The pores of this layer are filled during a rolling process with filled PTFE compound to give outstanding frictional properties. A 5-30 µm top layer of the same material forms the running in layer. Static load: 250 Mpa Dynamic load: 80 Mpa Maximum sliding velocity: 2 m/s Operating temperature: -200 to +260 ⁰C Glycodur® A Glycodur® A sliding bearings also have a copper-plated steel base and 0.2 to 0.4mm porous tin/bronze layer sintered. The principal characteristic of these bearings is the polyoxymethylene (POM) top layer, which is solidly joined to the sintered bronze. This surface is relatively thick at 0.3mm and features pockets for grease lubrication. Glycodur® A sliding bearings are therefore better able to accommodate shaft misalignment and edge loads. Static load: 250 Mpa Dynamic load: 120 Mpa Maximum sliding velocity: 2.5 m/s Operating temperature: -40 to +110 ⁰C Glycodur® AB Glycodur® AB sliding bearings have a similar composition to Glycodur® A sliding bearings but have a 0.35mm POM top layer. This allows the final machining of the sliding surface on installed bearings by boring, turning or reaming in order to eradicate small levels of misalignment or to achieve smaller operating clearances Advantages of Glycodur®: High load capacity Low water absorption High dimensional stability Low coefficient of friction Virtually zero stick/slip Press fit Compact design Common Applications of Glycodur®: Shock absorbers Steering rods Automatic doors Access platforms Escalators Vacuum cleaners Bottling machinery Washing machines

There are three basic material combinations of Glycodur® available:

Glycodur® F

Glycodur® F sliding bearings have a copper-plated steel base, to which a 0.2 to 0.4mm porous tin/bronze layer sintered. The pores of this layer are filled during a rolling process with filled PTFE compound to give outstanding frictional properties. A 5-30 µm top layer of the same material forms the running in layer.

  • Static load: 250 Mpa
  • Dynamic load: 80 Mpa
  • Maximum sliding velocity: 2 m/s
  • Operating temperature: -200 to +260 ⁰C

Glycodur® A

Glycodur® A sliding bearings also have a copper-plated steel base and 0.2 to 0.4mm porous tin/bronze layer sintered.

  • Static load: 250 Mpa
  • Dynamic load: 120 Mpa
  • Maximum sliding velocity: 2.5 m/s
