Fitzgerald Industries International, Inc. EGLN3 Blocking Peptide 33R-3129

Description
A synthetic peptide for use as a blocking control in assays to test for specificity of EGLN3 antibody, catalog no. 70R-2564 Background: EGLN3 catalyzes the post-translational formation of 4-hydroxyproline in hypoxia-inducible factor (HIF) alpha proteins. It hydroxylates HIF-1 alpha at 'Pro-564', and HIF-2 alpha. EGLN3 functions as a cellular oxygen sensor and, under normoxic conditions, targets HIF through the hydroxylation for proteasomal degradation via the von Hippel-Lindau ubiquitination complex. It may play a role in cell growth regulation in muscle cells and in apoptosis in neuronal tissue. EGLN3 promotes cell death through a caspase-dependent mechanism.
