Low viscosity polyalphaolefins
Available in viscosity ranges between 2 to 10 cSt at 100°C, SpectraSyn™ Lo Vis (Low Viscosity) PAO (polyalphaolefins) are used to formulate synthetic lubricants and for upgrading mineral oil base stocks.
Formulators add SpectraSyn Lo Vis PAO to mineral oils to gain better low-temperature properties, low volatility and improved thermal stability. They can also be combined with SpectraSyn™ Hi Vis PAO, SpectraSyn Elite™ mPAO and Synesstic™ AN (Alkylated Naphthalene) Blendstocks to formulate cross-grade engine and automotive gear oils, as well as various ISO VG industrial oils.
Benefits
High VI for enhanced wear protection and energy efficiency
Low-temperature fluidity for optimal flow
Low volatility to minimize oil consumption
Excellent thermal and oxidative stability for long drain intervals
