The SANTEST GMR2 is a semi-absolute linear encoder designed for high-temperature industrial applications, featuring a φ18mm sleeve and no mechanical contact between sensor and rod. It provides 24-bit positional output with 6.25 μm resolution, combining absolute position within a 51.2 mm pitch and incremental position by pitch counting. The sensor operates from -20°C to +120°C, withstands 35 MPa pressure, and meets IP67 protection with vibration resistance up to 20G and shock up to 100G. It is compatible with mineral oil and water-glycol, and the SC variant supports cable duct mounting. The associated GMRC-200 controller operates on DC 22-30 V, consumes less than 8 W, and outputs binary or Gray code at configurable sample rates of 5 kHz, 2.5 kHz, 1.25 kHz, or 0.625 kHz. Both sensor and controller have IP30 or IP67 protection respectively.
SANTEST's GMR2/GMRC-200 series is a high-resolution robust linear encoder of which structure is simplified and can enjoy heat-resistant 120°C. Succeeding to GMR sensor principle of operation, sleeve diameter has now widened Φ18mm and offering more robust structure. Detecting absolute position of each sleeve pair within one pitch of 51.2mm and incremental position over one pitch by counting pitches.
GMR2 series are the semi-absolute linear encoder of 24 bits integrated data of one pitch absolute and pitch count. SC type has now been added making cable duct mount possible.
Extremely high resistant to harsh circumstances due to no electronic parts employed in the sensor integrated into hydraulic cylinder and can be used for equipment of such as steel-mill plant no wear-out expected since no mechanical contact between sensor-rod and sleeve resolution 6.25μm of absolute output, in addition incremental output is prepared.
