The DS™ Metal-Polymer Self-Lubricating Bearings from GGB are designed for applications requiring reliable performance in mixed film lubrication conditions. These bearings feature a machinable sliding layer, approximately 0.4 mm above a bronze sinter layer, allowing for customization during installation. They are resistant to fretting corrosion, making them suitable for low amplitude oscillating movements.
The bearings can operate under a maximum static load of 16,000 psi and a dynamic load of 6,500 psi, with an operating temperature range from -80°C to 270°C. The maximum sliding speed is 1.5 m/s, and the coefficient of friction ranges from 0.15 to 0.30. For grease lubrication, the maximum sliding speed increases to 2.5 m/s, with a lower coefficient of friction of 0.05 to 0.10. Oil lubrication allows for even higher performance, with a maximum sliding speed of 10.0 m/s and a coefficient of friction of 0.03 to 0.08.
These bearings are suitable for a wide range of applications, including automotive components like steering gears and industrial machinery such as hydraulic cylinders and textile equipment. Custom bearing designs are available to meet specific project requirements.
