DU® cylindrical bushes are metal-polymer anti-friction bearings designed for dry and lubricated applications in industrial, aerospace, and automotive environments. They consist of a steel backing, a porous bronze sinter layer, and a PTFE-based bearing lining with fillers. These bushes support linear, oscillating, and rotational movements with a maximum dry sliding speed of 500 fpm (2.5 m/s) and a maximum pU factor of 50,000 psi·fpm (1.8 N/mm²·m/s). The operating temperature range is -328°F to 536°F (-200°C to 280°C). The material is approved to FAR 25.853 and FAR 25.855 for interior aircraft use. Shaft surface roughness should be 12-20 μin (0.3-0.5 μm) for dry operation, and hardness above HB 200 is recommended for extended life.
Our metal-backed, PTFE-based (polytetrafluoroethy
The metal backing provides mechanical strength, while the bronze sinter layer provides a strong mechanical bond between the backing and the bearing lining. This construction promotes dimensional stability and improves thermal conductivity.
These polymer bearing linings, being predominantly PTFE, offer exceptionally low friction.
