DU™ metal-polymer composite bearings are self-lubricating plain bearings designed for dry and lubricated operation in industrial, aerospace, and medical applications. They are available in cylindrical, flanged, and thrust washer forms, and meet Federal Aviation Regulations FAR 25.853 and FAR 25.855 for interior aircraft use. Operating temperature ranges from -200°C to 280°C. Maximum dynamic load is 140 N/mm², with a maximum sliding speed of 2.5 m/s under dry conditions and 5.0 m/s under oil lubrication. The coefficient of friction ranges from 0.02 to 0.25 in dry use and 0.02 to 0.12 when oil lubricated. The maximum pU factor is 1.8 N/mm²·m/s dry and 5.0 N/mm²·m/s lubricated. Shaft surface roughness should be 0.3-0.5 μm for dry operation.
