The Tracopower TSR 0.5SM series of step-down switching regulators are drop-in replacement for inefficient LM78 linear regulators. These DC-DC converters have a high efficiency up to 97%, which allows full load operation up to +80°C (+90°C with 50% load) ambient temperature without the need of forced cooling. The TSR 0.5SM switching regulators provide other significant features over linear regulators, i.e. excellent output voltage accuracy and lower standby current.
