Fractional stainless steel tubing is generally ordered to outside diameter (O.D.) and wall thickness. Type 316 is a popular grade of stainless steel tubing containing chromium-nickel stainless steel that contains between two and three percent molybdenum. The molybdenum content increases corrosion resistance. T316 L is an extra-low carbon version of 316 steel.
