The AEC-Q200 NC range is designed to achieve the maximum capacitance range possible for a given component size and high voltage but 100% coating of the chip after mounting, including especially between the pc board and the component (between the mounting pads) is mandatory to ensure flashover does not occur. This range is tested and approved to automotive specification AEC-Q200. MLCCs are particularly suitable for high voltage applications where small size is required. For standard high voltage capacitors a coating may be required to be applied post soldering.
