X2 class metalized polypropylene film capacitors are designed for across-the-line EMI suppression in AC mains applications where failure will not result in electrical shock. They are rated for 250/275/310 VAC at 50/60 Hz, operate from -40°C to +110°C, and meet safety standards including UL/CSA, VDE, and CQC. Capacitance tolerance is +10% at 1 kHz and 20°C, with dissipation factor ≤0.1% and insulation resistance ≥30,000 MΩ at 100 VDC. The construction features flame-retardant epoxy-filled cases (UL94V-0) and lead-free tinned terminations. Dielectric strength is 2050 VDC between terminals and case for 60 seconds, and impulse voltage withstand is 2.5 kVDC for capacitances <1 µF. The series exhibits a capacitance temperature coefficient of -200 to +100 ppm/°C.
