The Type 461M is a metallized polyester film capacitor with axial leads and a pressed/oval profile, designed for general-purpose applications requiring non-inductive performance. It operates at full rated voltage from -55°C to +85°C, with linear derating to 50% at +125°C. Encapsulated in flame-retardant polyester tape and epoxy, it meets UL510 and UL94V-0 standards. Capacitance ranges from 0.027 µF to 100 µF, with ±5% or ±10% tolerance; the 0.33 µF variant has ±10% tolerance. Dissipation factor is ≤1.0% at 1 kHz and +25°C. Insulation resistance is 10,000 MΩ-µF for capacitances ≤1.0 µF and 1,000 MΩ-µF for higher values. DC voltage ratings are 63 to 1000 VDC; AC ratings are 40 to 250 VAC. Tinned copper-clad steel or tinned copper leads are supplied in diameters of 0.020 to 0.040 inch. The 0.33 µF, 63 VDC variant has dimensions of 1.25 inch length, 0.23 inch thickness, and 0.42 inch height.
