The DLP-245PB-G is a USB microcontroller module that integrates a Microchip PIC16F877A microcontroller with an FT245RL USB interface. It supports data transmission rates of up to 2 megabits per second and features 18 digital I/O lines, of which 6 can be configured as analog inputs. The microcontroller includes 8K of FLASH ROM and 368 bytes of RAM, along with a multi-channel, 10-bit A/D converter. Preprogrammed with basic functionality, the DLP-245PB-G allows for easy access to port pins and can be reprogrammed with user-defined code via a 5-pin header. The module is designed to simplify USB interfacing, as the USB protocol is managed automatically by the onboard FT245RL, eliminating the need for in-depth USB knowledge. It is compatible with USB 1.1 and USB 2.0 standards and supports various operating systems through royalty-free virtual COM port drivers. This module is suitable for a range of applications, including prototype development, USB interfaces for digital cameras and MP3 players, high-speed USB instrumentation, and USB smart-card readers. The required 5V power supply can be sourced directly from the USB port or provided by external electronics.
